Friend of Alumni Association

Pat Ching

The Estelline Alumni Association would like to recognize PAT CHING (88) as a “FRIEND OF THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION.”

The alumni association spearheaded the wood floor project in the arena in 2007. When the school upgraded the weight room and front entry of the arena recently, it was evident that the lockers rooms also needed an upgrade. The arena sees even more use than it did when the wood floor was put in. With co-oping sports teams with Hendricks, more student-athletes are using the arena as well as community members.

The association paid for new floor covering in the lockers rooms, bathrooms, and back entry and hallway. The actual lockers themselves needed some attention too.

We knew Pat Ching (88) was the right guy to help us out. Pat spent over 60 hours refurbishing 120 lockers, patching holes, straightening handles. and then eventually painting them the perfect red color. They look better than new!

For tackling this huge project for the student-athletes and our school, we would like to thank Pat Ching and recognize him as a “Friend of the Estelline Alumni Association.”

Jim Rieger

The Estelline Alumni Association would like to recognize Jim Rieger as a Friend of the Alumni Association. Mr Rieger has been teaching multiple subjects at Estelline over the years while coaching cross country, boys basketball, and currently is the long time head track coach.

We would like to thank Mr Rieger for all the work he has done with televising school activities on the local ITC channel. This has been an important outreach of our school to keep the residents of our community connected to the school. This is just another aspect of how the school has worked to provide intergenerational activities for the students and residents of the Estelline Care Center. Some of the biggest supporters of our students are those who are unable to attend the events in person!

For everything Mr Rieger has done over the past 27 years for our students, school, and community, we would like to thank him and recognize him as a Friend of the Estelline Alumni Association.
