Today, 7 of our students represented Estelline at our 3rd annual DVC Leadership retreat in White. Along with 80 other 9th - 12th grade students from the other 10 Dakota Valley Conference schools.
The retreat was led by the DVC Activities Directors. The students had an opportunity to listen to our keynote speaker - current SD Athletic Director of the Year, Cory Aadland of Mitchell High School. He spoke on the importance of student leadership in schools and how that looks for students.
The students also broke off into mixed groups and made presentations on different topics related to student leadership in schools. Students will take what they learned today back to their school hallways and were challenged to lead positively in their buildings. It was a great day of learning, leading, and collaborating.

Due to the rainy forecast we are cancelling Friday morning's parade, but our Homecoming Pep Assembly is STILL ON! Please join us at 11:15 in the HS Gym to celebrate the REDHAWKS.
Students will be engaging in indoor activities Friday morning--reminder that all students are dismissed at NOON this Friday, September 18.
If you were planning to have a float and already purchased treats to share at the parade, you are welcome to drop them off at the school any time Thursday and we'll distribute to our students.

Congratulations, Kameron Hauck, of Estelline/Hendricks on being named this week’s Riddell Player of the Week for 9 Man Football.
"Kameron is a team captain and a true leader who consistently puts his team before himself. He competed for the starting quarterback position without ever becoming selfish or resentful toward his competition. Instead, he was his teammate’s biggest supporter.
After earning the starting job, Kameron battled through injury and eventually returned to lead his team to the playoffs. This season, he willingly moved from quarterback to wide receiver simply because, in his words, “I’ll play wherever I can help the team most.”
In his first game at his new position, Kameron touched the ball just four times and scored three touchdowns while also leading his team with seven tackles on defense.
Kameron’s toughness, determination, selflessness and commitment to putting his team first are exactly what the Riddell Player of the Week program is designed to recognize."
